Waking the Dead app for iPhone and iPad

Waking The Dead is an app that brings the hidden geniuses buried in Kensal Green Cemetery to life. The app will help you discover local, national and world history through this innovative project commissioned by the Octavia Foundation, and curated, photographed, recorded and narrated by local young people.

The app will help you navigate this scenic cemetery with 3 bespoke walks: Makers of The Modern World, Creators of Carnival and Rebels and Scandal. You can also enjoy the wealth of audiovisual content and the stories of these remarkable figures remotely, browsing the app by theme, and learn about Kensal Green itself, one of the Great Seven London Cemeteries.

Some of those buried here, such as Charles Babbage or Harold Pinter are already world famous figures. Some others are responsible for the unique flavour and legacy of the local community. And some will surprise you with their remarkable stories that history has forgotten.
